How to Register

  1. Click on hotlink: https://bit.ly/2II4Dd0.  This will direct you to the 2nd Annual Ruck March of Lake County Eventbrite page.
  2. Click on the green box labeled “Tickets”.
  3. Select “1” for ticket amount. Please register each participant separately so we can account for everyone’s name and t-shirt size.
  4. Click on the green box labeled “Checkout”.
  5. Scroll down under “Registration Information” and fill in the required fields:
              • Ticket Buyer: participants full name, email address, and cell phone number.
              • Payment: Payment method and billing information.
              • Other Information: gender and t-shirt size.
  6. Under “Additional Items”, click on the Ruck March of Lake County icon for the complimentary t-shirt.
  7. Confirm that the quantity is “1” and click on the green box labeled “Add to Order”.
  8. Review your order and click on the green box labeled “Pay Now”.
  9. You have completed Registration and will receive an email with your ticket.
  10. Your ticket is also your receipt for tax purposes.

Important Information 

Key Dates and Times

   • Date of Event is September 8, 2018
   • Registration at the event is $30 instead of $25. Registration Check-In is at 8:00 am
   • Step-Off at 10:00 am    

Location

   • Starts at the Libertyville VFW, 293 Peterson Rd, Libertyville and ends at Lake Villa VFW, 130 E Grand Ave, Lake Villa.
   • Limited parking. We recommend carpooling with friends and family or being dropped.

Preparation

  1. We highly recommend you start training as early as possible. Not everyone who participates will finish. Cut your toe nails, prep for chafing, use broken-in boots/shoes, moleskin, band aids, bring extra socks and hydrate yourself before and during the event. 
  2. Water will be available throughout the route, but bring your own drinking source as well. We recommend alternating between water and an electrolyte drink. We also suggest carrying an extra phone battery pack just in case your phone dies.
  3. Food will be provided for all volunteers and participants around the half way point of the route.

Rules

         1.   It is important that you obey all traffic signs and crossing guards.  
         2.   No weapons are allowed or needed for this event, so keep them at home.
         3.  Please obey all laws and city ordinances, no need to go to jail that day or get any tickets.

Team Registration Instructions

  2. Click on the blue box labeled, “Become a Fundraiser.”
  3. Click on one of the three boxes under “Start fundraising,” “As an individual,” “Join a team,” or “Create a team.”
    • If you want to fundraise on your own, choose, “As an individual.”
    • If you want to join an existing team, choose, “Join a team.”
    • If you are the one creating the team, choose, “Create a team.”
  4. Log-in or create an account.
    • If you have an account, click “Log in” and log in to continue.
    • If you do not have a Classy.org account, click “Create an account.”
  5. Enter email address/connect to your Facebook if you want.
  6. Create Password
  7. Type in First Name
  8. Type in Last Name
  9. If you are signing up as an “Individual,” create your page.
    • Set Fund-Raising Goal
    • Set Fund-Raising End Date as October 31, 2018 (Ask your friends to continue to support you, as well as the Foundation after the event).
    • Type your Page’s Headline (up to 180 characters, including spaces) to show why you are supporting the cause for potential donors.
    • Create a URL to go directly to your fundraising page to make it easier for your donors (Optional).
    • Upload photo (Optional).
  10. If you are intending to be a “Team Captain” (person who first registers for the team), create your page.
    • Name your team
    • Set Fund-Raising Goal
    • Type your Page’s Headline (up to 180 characters, including spaces) to show why you are supporting the cause for potential donors.
    • Create a URL to go directly to your fundraising page to make it easier for your donors as well as teammates (Optional).
    • Upload photo (Optional).
  11. To join a team, go to that team’s homepage and click the “join” button OR click “Join a team” from step 3.
    • Use step #3.2 above to search for either “Team name” or “Team Captain Name”
    • Follow the steps on the page to finalize team admittance.
